BRANCUSI

The work of Constantin Brancusi, a Romanian sculptor who lived from 1876 to 1957, has been closely linked to Plato's theories of sacred geometry. Plato believed that certain geometric shapes, such as the circle, square, and triangle, represented the fundamental building blocks of the universe, and that these shapes had symbolic meaning and spiritual significance. Brancusi was influenced by this philosophy and incorporated these shapes into his sculptures, which were often characterized by their simplicity and abstraction. He believed that his sculptures were not merely representations of objects or ideas, but rather embodiments of essential forms and principles that underlie the universe. One of Brancusi's most famous sculptures, "The Endless Column," is an example of his use of sacred geometry. The sculpture is composed of a series of stacked, identical rhomboid shapes, which repeat endlessly to create a column that appears to stretch infinitely upward.
